Pudding Pain

You call it ‘scoan’ and I call it ‘scone’

I like to moan that you’ve got it wrong

I eat it with ice cream, you prefer jam

Say what you like – mine is all gone

    My Scottish Home Economics teacher insisted we say “scone” to rhyme with gone – unless they turned out really hard, in which case she referred to them as “The Stones of Scone” (rhyming with noon).
